The Redwall series by Brian Jacques. It's such a pageturner. At it's most basic it is a series of individual adventures undertaken by animals that have a connection to a place called Redwall Abbey. A notible feature of most of the books are riddles found in the abbey that are timely found & relate to the current adventure itself. Hidden rooms & secret passageways also abound. Some stories take place at the abbey while others are adventures in distant lands.
