We all learn from our mistakes. Trying at something is better than not attempting it. And like Storm Machine said you learn from each project you work on. Never give up. Make the attempt and keep at it. Who knows what may happen?
We all gotta start somewhere.
Just hold your idea loosely and let it come to you... your unconscious is a wonderful thing. That is some of the wonderful advice I got from Alan Watt's The 90-Day Novel. I don't expect to ever finish a novel during NaNoWriMo, but I move the one I have forward - step by step into the darkness with just my wee headlights. One Novel, which has one draft done went through 3 Nanos and several Camp Nanos.
Stick with it. You never know what may happen. Try not to stress over it. We're all in this crazy thing together. Write on!
