I don’t know if that’s really possible. It’s established canon that there are a box of loose mind bands at Salopek, and Sean was the person last seen with them, and the first in a series of strange events began not long after, Will was knocked unconscious after feeling like he was grabbed from behind, when Sean was really the only possible culprit, and the book went missing shortly after that. Not only that, but the the basement was broken into, which nobody would really have cause to do alongside stealing the book unless they knew what to look for. The hypothetical mind band of Will would have allowed Sean to slip in and out of the Prescott house quickly to get what he needed, and know exactly what to grab.

I the evidence is pretty strongly stacked towards Sean being the mastermind, or at least the instigator of things here. My theory at this point is that Sean and Taylor spent time as Will and Robert while there was being Martha, and that the initial idea was being a family again. But the temptation of the masks and of impersonating other people was too great for Sean, and things escalated from there.
