So the WDC product reviews weren't working for me today. C'est la vie. So you get a rambly review lol. ![]() I love Jodi Thomas, so I was predisposed to love this book and I did. It wasn't as gut wrenching as her first series but it still kept my interest throughout and made me both laugh and cry. It told the stories of three couples and furthered the story of the small town of Honey Creek, located in Texas, USA. This book qualifies for "paranormal" because one of the main characters (part of one of the three couples), named Starri Knight (a whimsical name chosen by her adoptive mother who was referred to as her aunt in the book), "senses" things and her premonitions not only come true but enabled people to be saved on more than one occasion in the book. Starri is the one who planted all the strawberries that gave the book its name. There was some confusion at the start.. I wasn't quite sure which of the two main younger heroes (one of the couples was older) was going to end up with Starri, until she picked one to be her brother of the heart. While this was mostly a sweet romance, there was also some drama and violence and a villain who was truly villainous. So there are some definite triggers in this book, despite its "sweet" genre. But overall, it was touching and a nice read for me. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series. Jodi Thomas has a gift with characters and getting me emotionally involved in her stories. I wish she could write a book a month!
