Speaking of which: what would you think of a love rectangle-with-crossed-section? Specifically, a Will-Sydney-Joe-Rosalie complex pairing? Personally, it's not something I'm a big fan of for multiple reasons. For one, there's my longstanding ambivalence towards the Stellae as a whole and that includes Joe and Rosalie. Not to say that I can't find Stellae stories enjoyable or interesting but for the most part my interest can wander once they start becoming the core of a story for a number of reasons. I find most of the Stellae, to be quite frank, only vaguely likable asses. With Rosalie herself I've just never found her interesting enough to care and I've also never quite liked the idea of her and Will having a thing given, you know, they're cousins and all. I've actually never been that into the "Will having a crush on Umeko" thing either for the same reason even though they're not blood relatives of course (unlike Will and Rosalie). Which is probably funny considering the whole storyline I wrote that had Sydney-as-Uemko prominent but that can be somewhat handwaved as "it's not the real Umeko" or "Will was in a mask". And of course, the focus of that storyline wasn't any kind of Umeko or pseudo-Umeko romance but that it was all leading up to the Charlotte Dahl reveal. So yeah, it's not a setup that interests me. I like to keep things mostly smaller scale in scope as well and I never feel comfortable if I try to venture into more ambitious magic-focused epics that you or imaj or Seuzz seem comfortable with. As far as romantic possibilities for Will that haven't been explored yet, there's definitely a few I've always thought about or wanted to see but have never been able to think of a good story around them. Jenny is at the top of that list and I'd put some girls like Brianna Kirschke or Danielle Davis up there as well. |
