Thanks for these reviews, Lyn. I found 'A Grief Observed' a huge help after having three bereavements rose together. I was so angry at a God I claimed I didn't even believe in. Yet, I still felt anger towards him. The thing that stood out the most for me, though, was when Lewis said he never realised how much like fear grief is. He really describes the feelings eloquently.
And, 'The Bell Jar' ... Such a brave book. I wish Plath had known how admired and loved she would become through her amazing talent. I think things may have been very different for her had she been born fifty years later.
