Oh, I'm sorry I missed this. I think it's because it wasn't technically a reply to a post of my own, so I didn't get a notification. Also, I must have read your answer to rugal (which seems to me the correct answer, btw) before you posted your followup question, so the thread didn't look to me like it had been bumped after you posted that followup. Short answers I think will suffice. > if a suitably modified Sigil were to copy a corpse; would it also be able to copy the mental imago of the deceased, or as a “shadow” of Anima, would it fade away alongside of Anima and Essentia. My instinct is that it would fade. The mental imago depends upon the physical imago, and ... well, basically the brain's decomposition would make copying mental imago really funky. I suppose with a really fresh corpse you might get something. It's a close call, and story needs would be the real determinant of whether it would work. > Also, another complication of copying the imago of a corpse is that because of essentia departing the body, there’s none of it to trace for the mask to function, which would require specific copying perimeters on the sigil to actually copy what needs to be copied. That's a technical question too far. I think the most straightforward way would be to treat the corpse like an inanimate object. Whatever sigil revisions allow the copying of inanimate objects would allow the copying of a corpse. |
