Greetings in mystery, mayhem, and madness: Salutation on all points of the triangle!

The denizens of the crypt are stirring, comrades, for they hunger after the horrific offerings of which only YOU are capable!

You must appease them, for I cannot answer for their deeds if you fail!

Come on back by noon WdC time one week hence (that's 11 August 2021) with a terrifying tale of up to 3500 words. The prompt is

                             W - I - D - E
                             O - P - E - N.

If you need something more specific to get your scary on, I invite you to peruse past contests and use any prompt that appeals to you. The only requirement is that the entry be bleeding-fresh for this contest...nothing else will satisfy these revenants!

The winner receives a 25K awardicon and a review, and each entry gets a sweet little GP bonus from me,
