Perhaps the most interesting thing about the backs of hands is that the vein pattern differs from the left to the right. I suspect it's a bit like finger prints - we all have different patterns. Well, TWO different patterns. It's always seemed incredible to me that biology should have decided against having a standard pattern and sticking with it.
