The Contest Challenge

Good attitude! I need to get back to I Write in 2021. My goal was also to do that with my challenge, but uhh...I've sort of failed on both. It was all I could do to keep my head above water with school.

Feel free to look ahead at contests you want or need and ask the owner if they'll be open anytime soon. Sometimes an owner is already planning to open a contest and you can ensure you catch it or they might have been thinking about opening it and your show of interest is just what they needed. But even if they don't open a contest you ask about, it still makes them feel good to know you are interested. But asking about contests you want to enter in the future can open options for months that didn't have anything available. Though in the end, I'll make sure you get credit for every month, even if you have to enter contests that weren't originally offered because all the contests you should have done then are just no longer available.

Another suggestion is to enter contests by the month. If you enter all the May years in May, you're more likely to hit contests that are only open 1-4 times a year. May isn't a great example, but I know some contests are only open at certain times, so it helps if you enter them during the months they are highlighted, if that make sense. So, for example, you can't enter Lucky Limerick again until next March. It's just a little tip to help with the catching up.
