The later questions you discuss are what I meant by the contraction. This conversation originally started when I asked what would happen if an anima band was placed in a masked golem, or Ludius now I suppose, with Stellae essentia used in it's crafting. You said that the golem shell wouldn't give prodigies, because it only imparts control. But the line I quoted, specifically the part that says a golem with anima "becomes indistinguishable from a human being, and therefore is able to perform magic, including any magic that would derive from the essentia it carries within it." is what's making me think I've misunderstanding something. The way I understand things, the way a golem is bound to it's master is a result of lacking anima of its own and sharing essentia with a person who has the corresponding essentia, but who does not lack anima. And because the golem lacks anima, they cannot perform magic or exercise the prodigies of a Stellae. But if a golem who has the essentia of a Stellae were to gain anima, why wouldn't that anima allow it to access the prodigies of the essentia it contains if the anima would make it so the golem becomes indistinguishable from a person? And wouldn't the anima make it so they have an animating force independent of the original spellcaster? |
