Here in my little corner, we have a bit of weirdness. There was to be a debate between two candidates for county commissioner. The one candidate was a no-show. And then he posted a blurb in the local paper and on Facebook as to why he didn't show. Of course there is now a big conspiracy theory about his being a puppet of the so-called leader of the political party he's affiliated with, whereas the opponent he was to debate is running as an independent. Drama. But that little bit of showmanship on his part made me think I didn't want to vote for him. It was a rude antic, in my opinion.
Anyway, we get at least 5 or 6 political fliers in the mail daily. Vote for A for governor, don't vote for B for governor, vote for C for Senate. I have yet to get any fliers for the Presidential election. I find that curious. It is almost like the two candidates have decided Montana is not worth fighting over.
Then I have a friend on Facebook who is certain he is going to prison because he didn't transfer his voting rights to another state. Now I find that just a little troubling. But I got to thinking, how many other folks out there are not voting this year, and how many are scared to vote, afraid of repercussions.
2020 is a curious year in so many ways. My hubby says 2020 was to be the year of perfect vision. Well, that's just not working out so well, is it!
