Nightmare Blues

One night
After drinking all night
Twenty drinks too sober

I found myself again
In that din of inquity
In the dark side
Of the city of Angels
Drinking by myself

Watching the mad scene unfold
I saw the singer
Naked on stage
A ghostly singer

Singing with an attitude
That could kill an elephant
Singing her soul
Surrounded by her lovers

The dead surround her
She holds on their skulls
She is their hero

And she sings their songs
The nightmare blues
Comes to life

As she weaves death
And destruction
And I soon too

Become her dead lover
Under her demonic spell
Still twenty drinks too sober
