I have no idea what the word count is, but estimating based on the number of chapters and the usual word count of each chapter, I would say it is > 5.25 million words. That is about eleven times longer than The Lord of the Rings.
The best way to map it, I think, is to find chapters that introduce certain large, long-running situations: Prussian55 has done a good job of finding many of those, such as "The Sophomore Candidates" .
Which means it should probably be a long-time reader to make such a map. Better yet (as if I didn't have enough projects) it should be me, as I have an organized folder of storylines on my hard drive, and can tell almost at a glance where the important nodes are.
