A Life Less Magical
A quick recap for anyone reading A Life Less Magical and having no idea what happened.

Will (after gaining and losing the Libra multiple times) got the book from freshman Shelly Nolan. The duo then worked together on it before Shelly was petrified in an attempt to use the corpse-golem spell. Two masks were also lost through a confusing set of circumstances that really don't need explaining.

Will then ended up infiltrating The St. Francis Xavier School to retrieve these masks, using the identity of Shelly's neighbor (and Xavier's pupil) Niamh Stirland. Niamh was brought in to the coven by Will and started dating, deciding to play a game of identity hide and seek with each other using the masks. Will won the game by impersonating Niamh's best friend Mariah.

The move destroyed their blossoming relationship. Niamh, a good Catholic girl, suddenly became aware of the corrupting nature of the book, and promptly took it from Will, banishing him from her life and swearing to restore Shelly Nolan to life (currently Shelly is played by a golem). Niamh's plan for this seems to involve a school trip to Cambridge, UK, she was scheduled to go on anyway.

And so the chapter starts with Will following on from his dismissal by Niamh. He's lost the magic, he's lost the girl, and he's realized that somewhere he stopped pursuing magic for good (to restore Shelly) and started just having fun.

And then, just as he's adapting to a world without the Libra, guess who turns up to drag him back in...
