new but not new. Can this be?
by poppa Author IconMail Icon

I joined writing.com several years ago, I don't even remember when but I never wrote anything. My life at the time was focused in other areas and I was busy working, running trails, and wishing I was somewhere else. A lot has happened since that initial joining. I've finished a grad degree in counseling, moved to Texas to be close to family and job and interests have changed--I've gotten older and focus has also changed. So, I'm back. But since I was never really here, Can I say I'm back or do I say I'm a newbie? Alas, my mind remains conflicted, as it has been and probably as it will. I've started writing, have a few items in my portfolio. I'm playing with all sorts of ideas. I've journaled for the past 7 years and trying to figure out how to adapt that to things to submit to the public. I like to reflect, ponder, make connections between things and people. I want to inspire, encourage, challenge to think and help people live the best life they can live.

I'm married--for a long time, have two grown kids, five rambunctious grandkids that include a set of twin boys.

My background is in ministry with a late in life grad degree in mental health counseling and would love to combine all that into a self-employed work situation in which I can fulfill my above-stated goals and devote the time in my life to what I feel important.

Look forward to reading and writing more.
