I managed to spend about 3 hours yesterday working on a plot revision. One of the things that had been bothering me was the original outline I drew up. I had been following a format from a class I had taken in the past and followed the guidelines a bit too closely. Long story short, the original outline had way too many chapters, lol. A few got tossed in this revision, but most of them were condensed. The ones that got tossed, I felt were nothing but backstory....interesting to me, but to the movement of the storyline...perhaps not.
Once finished and retyped, I was a lot happier with my work. (I actually slept better last night too, lol! My "story brain" wouldn't stop nagging me.). Not only do I now have a less daunting project to tackle, but I now have a much clearer picture of start to finish. And the best part, at least for me, I like what I have written!
