I have about 50,000 words, so far, in about 12 chapters toward the completion of a novel that I am engaged in and would love for someone to look at it and let me know if it is worth completing. It is a science fiction novel, but not hard science fiction. The story is about a captain of a prospecting vessel in the asteroid belt, whose ship is desperately in need of system repairs when he stumbles across an asteroid, which shows signs of a metal deposit. From there, the story develops into a tale of Corporate greed, personal greed, love, and a family torn apart by an evil-doer when that person abducts their child to accomplish his selfish ambitions. There is a chase, an encounter with an alien species, several fights, and hopefully a satisfying conclusion.
If anyone is willing to help with their learned opinion, I will most certainly listen and gratefully accept any advice offered, utilizing everything my conscience will allow.
