I'm a bit sad how few people seem to like the Stellae. My feeling is once they got involved in the story there was a bit more drive to what was happening, though I suppose I agree with Rugal's sentiment that the story becomes more of a magical spy thriller.
Picking out favourites I'd highlight Kali Valentine, who I always wrote as a sort of cross between Storm from the X-men and the kind of character Michelle Gomez always seems to end up playing
Fyodor Chernomyrdin, for all that he is a bit of a one dimensional stereotype, was also a very fun character to write.
By contrast Maria Cardozo and Hilda Gunnarson were both terribly underdeveloped characters. I guess that's why Fane got away with replacing the later for several years and no-one noticed...
