Favorite: In terms of my overall favorite, it's a tie between Andrea Varnsworth and Alyssa Randal. Both are exceedingly popular in their respective schools, but are two very different characters. And they both have, in my mind, a lot of room to be expanded as characters (which is something I hope to do in future). I'm always a fan of the red oni, blue oni (to borrow from TVTropes) dichotomy, and Andrea plays the blue oni pretty well against Chelsea's red. She is, to me, the type of person who sublimates her general teenage awkwardness and insecurities into aloofness, in much the same way Chelsea uses her bravado and scheming to do the same. Her method of simultaneously using provocative dress and cool demeanor to keep herself at a distance and in control of most situations is something I can totally see a high schooler who thinks they know what's up, do. As far as Alyssa goes, well... it's nice to see people who aren't white in positions of power, and Alyssa Randal being a top dog is super great. Though she seems to be less of a good person than she wants to be (in regards to the lower tier students), I appreciate her efforts to do good. She strikes me as someone who also feels insecure about her position and tries to overcompensate with trying to have her hand in every pie she can. Favorite (Minor): I dunno if she necessarily counts as obscure, but I love Chris Yves in all her self-righteous punk rocker glory. I'll also shoutout Kali Valentine (who's major in a few storylines, but hasn't seen much play lately), Hélène Verdier, Paige Knotts, the Rumoratti and the Eastman cheerleaders. If I keep naming my favorite characters, I'll be here for a while, though, so I'll stop the list there; I'll also refrain from saying my least favorite since that wasn't the question and Suezz might want to ask that in the future. |
