Charlie ~ In reference to your comment about trying to understand what is you and what is your identity, I can see how that would especially be challenging with someone with a BPD diagnosis. From what I understand, it is the schema that is the issue. That perception of self that developed young, possibly through trauma, is trapped there.
My diagnosis is different than yours. Although, how we might be similar is that when mental illness is in control it is us amplified. I am naturally an introvert and have humble traits, both of which are not bad traits at all. Although when mental illness takes over, humility amplifies to self-loathing and total isolation. So, I read in your recent blog that you consider yourself sexually adventurous, which is not a bad thing, but when amplified to dangerous behaviors, it may be mental illness in control. I say may be because dangerous is perception.
I am not a professional. This is only my own evaluation through observations of myself and others.
