Re-checking in/still a newbie

Hi everyone, decided to take another look around. Still trying to write fan fiction but I find myself just rewriting over things I've already written, I have a few stories but nothing complete. I have a friend who writes far better than me LOL. She can seem to find a thread and pull everything together, I just seem to write scenes or one shots that could possibly be part of a long story but it never happens.

I tend to start but never finish.
