Noticing Newbies

         I usually say I'm new to writing, but I've been writing off and on since I was seven(?). When I was younger I liked to write down my dreams that I thought were really interesting and make stories out of them. I only say that I'm new because I've never been part of a writing community that would critique my writing. So I'm hoping for something like that here. I want someone to tell me if my writing is absolutely hopeless, or that maybe, just maybe I may have an idea on how to write a coherent sentence. My friend that I've shown some writing of mine has told me I have terrible punctuation habits and that I should brush up on some of my grammar rules, but encouraged me in my story lines and characters.

Anywho, I'm also a big fan of music and baking. I sing, play piano and guitar, and listen to all kinds of music. I really enjoy baking because I see it as creative, practical and tasty. I'm especially fond of pastries.
