That's rough, Andie. I didn't see or talk to my family for years by choice, but what's hard is the little day-to-day things that you miss. You still get the big picture, but it's just those simple, small things. It happens though. A lot of people don't live close to their family. As long as people are willing to communicate, there are a lot of things you can do. Video chats, phone calls, letters, etc... Snail mail is great for people who don't live near each other. Just little mementos that you can hold onto.
Don't worry about the lack of motivation. It's understandable. Try to hit up some of the easier tasks while you're unmotivated.
