My self-care regimen in the morning is pretty much waking up and enjoying my coffee Usually while I'm drinking that first cup of caffeinated goodness, I smoke my first cigarette on the porch, while listening to the birds.
Besides the cigarettes and coffee, healthy eating is a form of self-care for me. We eat mostly organic foods and avoid processed foods. Mostly my diet consists of a vegetarian diet, unless it is hormone free meat a few times a week.
Also, I consider not wearing make-up self love. I actually think there is nothing wrong with my face. My skin is healthy because I don't wear it and I have been accused of being younger than I am.
Art has become a healthy coping mechanism for me. In addition, meditation helps to mute the chattering monkey in my head.
