I think medications affect people differently. Psychotropic drugs definitely don't cause violence on a whole. Otherwise we'd be in a lot of trouble because we have a ton of people on them. A lot of people do really well on them. You personally had a negative experience and have carried that in your perception of the medication, but they've been a lifesaver for many people. Kind of like how antidepressants can cause suicidal thoughts, but it's super rare and usually goes away as the meds level out when it does occur.
Our healthcare system here is awful. You're so right about wealthy people being the only ones who can afford healthcare. There's sort of a weird area where very poor people can get greatly reduced or free healthcare (that probably isn't always great quality, but is healthcare) and then rich people who have excellent insurance. And then lower middle class people who get literally nothing at all. Like, "just die" pretty much.
