Are you planning to publish? If not, don't worry about the similarities.

I'm writing something which could be deemed very similar to Mass Effect (the game), but I'm not planning to publish, and I'm having a lot of fun, so it doesn't matter.

If you are trying to publish at some point, I'll leave it up to more experienced members. *Smile*
