Noticing Newbies

Hey there, I don't usually find it useful to post in forums as they are usually overburdened with a lot, and I mean a lot, of other writers looking to get noticed. They probably deserve more attention then me, but I decided to give this a shot.

Anyhow, I'm a Canadian writer - trying my hand at a few ideas. Not sure if they are great or if they are bad. I don't have enough reading friends, or any to tell the truth, that can help me out when I do write. I mainly define myself as a writer because I have no life, I pretty much just write and read anymore (though I do have a unhealthy obsession with Magic: The Gathering). I'm sure a lot of you can relate.

Hope to see you all around (maybe) and hopefully my off mannerisms don't incite accidental arguments or anything - because that always seems to happen to me.
