Noticing Newbies

Writing.Com is a bit like an 'Eat all you can buffet' try anything that strikes your fancy. A little tasted of poetry and perhaps breakfast on a neat short story. WdC is a community where we all try to help each other. If you read something and you like it tell the writer what you liked. You can even get a little more serious and review the piece. Reviewing other writers is a good way to contribute and also to learn about your own writing.

The Newbies Academy will offer support and training, formal and informal. Well worth joining and taking advantage of stuff aimed at newbies.

The one thing that hits most people is how much stuff there is. Every type and style of writing, challenges and competitions. You don't have to do it all at once. Try things and ask questions or sit back and watch - up to you. One thing we do ask is - 'Be nice'. If you review something try to be positive about it. Some of us are a little sensitive. You can usually find something positive if only to congratualte someone for trying. Try to be honest as well as gentle.

Remember we're all writers and we're all aiming to enjoy the experience.
