A message forum discussing the craft of writing. I often repost articles for discussion. |
I tried this over at the Steampunk Boiler Room forums to some success, so it occurs to me to try it here. There are no rules. Write as little, or as much, as you like, and as often as you like. Just keep it a continuing story. You have the option to leave a prompt for the next writer ----- I drift over pebbles, increasing in fervour. I swirl around the lonely plants, picking up speed. I hurtle across the night sky, coming to rest amongst some towering trees. I cleave the heavy leaves like an ancient machete. I dip, tuck, roll and somersault through the lighter brush. "Where? Where?" I hear my brethren, the wind, whisper across the plains, the mountains, the oceans. I float upwards; leisurely towards the stars, everbeckoning. Suddenly, so far, far below an eldritch light crackles and hisses. I sense, rather then see or hear, the disturbance and my laugh, a strange maniacal laugh can be heard in the dreams of those who sleep. They lay in peace no more. --- Next instalment: Your turn must include a summer day --- |
