Wow, I haven't been around for a few days so I'm sorry nobody has popped in here to say HI!

You mentioned you've written a story, but you haven't posted anything in your portfolio, yet. Please do put your story up for people to see because otherwise you won't get any helpful feedback. Also, note that there is a Newbie Academy in the list of useful links on this page, and you can get help with story writing there.

Personally, when I was learning how to write stories, I found Brandon Sanderson's YouTube videos about creative writing very useful.
