Well, the first step is to write something. The second is to post it on here as a static item so we can all read it.
If you do feel you need to think a bit about how to write, most people seem to start with Stephen King's autobiographical On Writing - a memoir of the craft, though I personally think Brandon Sanderson's lecture series from Bringham Young University are better since they start from the basics and work through everything, whereas King's book is just a memoir and all over the place.
