Noticing Newbies

Hello all out there!

I am heading to Arizona for Vacation tonight, but before I leave I wanted to say Hello!

I am new to this site and I just (last night) added a short story I wrote for a contest a while back. I don't remember all the parameters of the contest, but I do remember that it had to be very short.

Everything I had written prior to 2009 had been lost when my hard drive died on my laptop, except this one story. I had a copy of it on an old thumb drive and thought I would put it in my portfolio here on writing.com. I haven't figured out how to post a story for review yet, so if you are reading this, please feel free to read and tell me what you think. Really, I want suggestions, thoughts, grammar Nazi's, etc.

I haven't written much in the last 8 years because of the loss of all my work, but my mother made me promise to never stop writing. So, here I am, ready to bare my soul again.

I am working on some new things. I had to because every time I tried to rewrite some of my old stuff I would get upset and quit. So, out with the old and in with the new. Except with Mother. I have a full copy of that one. I am hoping to work on it some more and I'm hoping someone out there will take the time to read it and make suggestions.

Anyway, I am taking my laptop with me so I can work while I am in Arizona!
