I feel your pain. My family and I watched our father slowly die from cancer. What made it worse was that we discovered he was being misdiagnosed; being told he had pneumonia. By the time his lung cancer was detected, it had taken over 80% of his right lung to the point it was effecting his chest plate.
He was in constant pain, trusting a doctor whose misdiagnosis nearly cost my mother's life years later. My father was a five year cancer survivor but lost the battle in the end due to massive heart failure.
I too cry myself to sleep some nights as I think of him. Only he is still with us in spirit and I have every confidence that I will meet him again on the other side when my time comes.
