Gift Points are our universal gift certificates... It's really a lot of additional system work to start creating specific certificates that force GPs to be used in certain ways.
One thing you could do, however, is create a CNOTE shop that offered a form of GC's that the sender would then include the proper number of GPs with. For example, a cnote image that said something like "Trinket Gift Certificate - please use the attached Gift Points to purchase your own trinket!"
Of course the sender would have to REMEMBER to actually attach the points... but still a sorta nifty way to do it.
