Noticing Newbies

Thanks and thanks for the GPs! SO GENEROUS of you! :)

Funny, when I first got here, I'm like, "GPs? Merit badges? Who cares?" Well, now, less than 1 short week later, I do! lol I forget the name for the term when something takes on value only because everyone around you values it, but it's a real psychological phenomenon and I've totally fallen for it. Hahaha

Fyi, I'm not 100% sure what a merit badge is, but I think it's basically like in Boy and Girl Scouts. It's a thing (virtual here, but you can order physical ones if you'd like) to show accomplishments or skills. At least that's my take on it. If you haven't already discovered, the number besides the person's name is how many badges, awardicons, etc. the person has, suggesting greater skill (or at least longevity here lol).
