I feel your pain. I had lost more than one beloved pet in my lifetime. Like any other family member, the pain never goes away. We recently had three cats; Bonnie, Clyde, and Momma Mia. They lived up to their names. Bonnie and Clyde would run of with anything they could carry or drag just to get us to play with them.
Sadly, Momma Mia died the day after Thanksgiving 2013 under the Christmas tree. Bonnie died at my side February 15, 2015; I stayed with her until her last breath. That was hard to take.
All of this happened the same year we lost our father. It was not a good year for us. I can still see Momma Mia out of the corner of my eye, looking down at me from the stairs as she always loved to do so I know her spirit is there with us still, watching over us.
All we have left is Clyde and I am certain he plays with the spirits of his lost family, chasing them around the house as they loved to do.
Gelolopie may be gone but I have no doubt his spirit is still with you.
