You're certainly not alone here in loving multiple genres. I'm always amazed at how many genres people around here write! Horror one day and a children's story the next? Seems so random to me.
Music with lyrics is impossible to listen to while I read. The words in the song get mixed up with the words I'm reading. Instrumental is alright, but I prefer just silence. Of course, there is rarely silence around here. I just tune everything out like it isn't there.
