Re: OT Literary/Older Adult genres

*Dollar* 100 GPs were sent to D. Reed Whittaker with this post.
It looks like Literary was sort of not agreed to here: "Re: More accurate category listings."  .
A Mature Adult genre was rejected by other members here: "Re: Mature Adult Genre"  .

Genres are added very rarely. If there aren't enough items with that sort of content for it to make sense to split them off from a more inclusive genre, a genre option is unlikely.

However, that does not mean you can't label what you write accurately. The three genre choices are additionally supported with the keywords section, which is included in site search. You have 150 characters where you can include whatever additional keywords you wish. The Brief Description is also searched, and is the best place to inform readers who are looking for that type of novel, because with the right settings it's visible in the listings.

You might consider using the combination of Relationship, Romance/Love, and Drama genres for your novel if you don't want to use the Adult genre.

For finding others who write about that topic, you can use words in the main site search at Community/Search All Items
https://www.writing.com/main/search
to narrow the list.
Using the Details option for Display Type will show you all the genres.

You can also narrow the list by choosing item types and subtypes. The kind of works you're looking for would be in Static items under Chapter, Draft, Novel, Novella, Serial or Short Story, or in Book items. You might also find similar things in Statics/Non-fiction or Essay.

There's also an age-related group.

The owner isn't on much right now because of computer problems, so it's kind of inactive, but you can see the membership list. Portfolios can be searched with the search bar at the top left - click the correct settings.

You could also post a note in your Notebook tab (it goes to the Community Newsfeed), inviting the people you're looking for to contact you.

Hope that helps.
