Hello, Ryan, and welcome to Writing.Com. Sounds like you have a great mindset, and you're ready to pursue your passion for writing. This IS a great place to do that. The members are pretty helpful here. I can say from experience if you get involved with the various aspects of the site--reviewing, contests, groups, etc.--you'll improve your writing. I did.

You might search for groups in your favorite genres using the Search boxes at the top of any page. Join any you feel might help you on your writing journey. Also, if you get stuck, check out our Reference Guide, "Writing.Com 101" Open in new Window., for tips. Or, you can post in one of the tech forums. Find them under the Writing.Com Tools in the navigation menu in the left column of any page. Folks here are a helpful lot.
