and poem just for you to enjoy

Halloween Maggot

O'er moonlit graves and wrought iron fence it slithers dark and dreary,
seeking those who dare to roam this realm so quiet and leery.

A bit of blood or wounded soul it seeks in desperate haste,
the fog lies thick and the moon is nigh and it has no time to waste.

Through skulls and bones and rotted flesh it crawls in desperation,
seeking life where death abides in eternal desecration.

A sudden noise and into its realm two lovers slowly stride,
unaware that in this place such horror does abide.

Now on the lawn where lovers lie it waits to pounce and kill,
to suck them in its rotting mouth until it’s had its fill.

A scream of pain and putrid smell does fill the silent night,
for in its maw the lovers go with a short and desperate fight.

A crunch of bones and a gush of blood to the creatures great delight,
the air is filled with smells of joy in the silence of the night.

Thus no remains nor signs of life where the wretched creature fed,
just the bones and tattered cloth of the eternal sleeping dead.

Now the maggot sleeps in bliss, five hundred pounds or more,
to await the burial of the dead, in its faithful grocery store.

Spirit in the sky.
