October Novel Prep Challenge

So in my research I have learned -

Voodoo is a religion and has been sanctioned by the Vatican because of it semblance to the Catholic church. All of the Loa are corresponded to Saints. Voodoo is all about life and the life spirit being connected. They believe that there are two life forces, one that makes you alive, the other that makes you who you are. It's pretty beautiful if you think about it. It comes from Africa but has been adapted and near as I can tell has never been given proper respect in TV or movies.

BTW not to offend anyone...but since Catholicism believes in possession and Voodoo rights talk about spirit riding peoples bodies...???? Why is it so weird.

I have been looking for movies...the Serpent and the Rainbow, Midnight in the Garden of Eden, there are some, but most want to make Voodoo into something evil and from what I have researched, it isn't. They aren't cannibals, they don't steal dead bodies, they aren't trying to entrap anyone. It is interesting though how fearful many people are of it.
