I've been off writing.com for almost a year, intermittently checking in when I get an automated email reminder to come back and check things out. In truth, when I first joined, I wasn't just a newbie to the website, I was a newbie to writing.
I have since endeavored to increase my skills, craft knowledge and work habits to that of a more than a newbie, and I am beginning to see my efforts my pay off. My return to writing.com is part of my increased workload on myself to push myself harder as a writer and seek out reviews and advice from fellow writers. No longer can my husband, parents and friends stand in as my critics - they are kind and forgiving but I fear lacking in cut throat honesty.
My goals this week:
- submit article queries to two paying markets
- finish outlining my novel in preparation for NaNoWriMo
- participate in two writing.com contests
