Noticing Newbies

Hi Trish Nonya and welcome to Writing.Com aka WdC. Like Spacecat said this site offers a lot of different activities, contests and here you can find writers of all kinds. Some of us when we just joined knew exactly what we wanted from the site, some of us didn't know but we all function very well together. I visited your portfolio and I saw that you already uploaded one story. That's great for a start, if you get lost in navigation on how to upload other work please feel free to check "Writing.Com 101" , basic guide and navigation through WdC.

I also saw that you didn't set up your biography and bioblock so I would suggest to you to do that as well. When writers visiting the other writers' portfolio we all like to know what you like to write about, maybe you like the same genre as me. That would be helpful for you to get to know people here and make friends. I know it all looks overwhelming now because you joined a day ago but once when you get used to it you'll see that we are one happy crowd . So, it would be nice if you can write some bio about your writing.

I clicked on your story and I saw it's biographical. I'm writing biographical novel at this time, I'm preparing myself for NaNoWriMo in November. We have "October Novel Prep Challenge"  here which helps a lot through that journey. Feel free to check it out if you're interested in NaNo.

My friend here, Sophie, made her own "Invalid Item"  which is all about writing biographies, hobbies, crafts basically everything that is autobiographical. If you want to stick to that genre I really recommend to check this page. I signed up as well and there is also other ladies who are willing to try to write biographical stories.

Okay, I already flooded you with my reply so I'll just stop now. I hope you'll check all these out and join it if you find anything interesting. I don't know what are your intentions when it comes about writing, are you going for long runs or you're just making small steps for now. That's why I recommended to you to fill up bioblock, check "Writing.Com 101" , write, read, whatever you find suitable for you.
