Face facts. Real news is hard to locate. Although keeping current re: news --- which author, Pete Hamil dubs a verb (news) is nigh impossible due the blackout for ... suffice real news. Due media moguls. Sure, many may recall a daily 2 hr research stretch to find news topics. Search engine take over in place mid 2010. (Are you with me so far?)

Thus one could fall into a wider category, let's call: disinformation nation. Alas! Shameful state of affairs that. So telling news from your area straight up remains hopeful should anyone feel thus inspired. Now apply setting. *Heart* Setting, an integral part of casting fiction pieces. Authors Discussion Club Contests encourage that perpetual reach for the best an author can accomplish. Once submitted, so be it. I'm not one to pick a piece apart.

ATTENTION, ONLINE VISITORS (whom are not members of Writing.Com) ----One must be a member of http://www.writing.com to reply to posts or introduce forum topics. Click on the WDC homepage links for information from this writing-website-carrier for free or fee joining/ membership/ details.(advert)

RE: THE WAVE ...
FORUM Posts on any subject including: genre pens, blogs, our changing times, geography stats in your neck of the woods, pet peeves, venting and blowing the roof off are all fine by me.

IF you make me laugh, I send you 100 gp.
IF any poster contributes an interesting topic ... secret gift points go out to lucky recipients as well.
Thus donations always acceptable. Simply E -- teffom@writing.com.

RELAX, SHARE, EXPOSE

UPTIGHT writers need relax. One way to write better is to follow the writing advice of the great Gore Vidal: "Know what you want to say. Say it. Don't give a damn what anyone thinks."

While AUTHOR DISCUSSION CLUBs original motto prevails inside this mission statement. SHARING continues to be the name of the game. PROMO is sharing and this can take the form of published book recommendations or announcements when writers reach out and tell us about their works or their ventures in ordinary time.

People from all walks of life and various writing levels are welcome to join. The staggering fee (due advice laden NL Past) is merely 10K gp. Then Miss TEFFY acquires an optional means to pay membership fees which float the boat annually. Plus splashing about gp for recognition from Club members.

There may be that awful rare Roll Call. I hope this dreaded touch toward the personal side for user names on our roster allows answers RE: your latest, Dear Club. Better yet, as my porfolio views continue to swing upward (maybe the contests without word limits) try posting your activities/ contest/ written works you favor down @ the Wave

Perhaps, readers of this revamping intro might agree. Writers write because they have something to say. Inside the stretch of fiction -- various levels portray looking at such things as society. Nutshelling opinions results in instigating threads. lllllllllllllllllllll SIDEBAR llllllllllllllllllll While review writing is popular onsite, forum posting is also another way to strut one's stuff. llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

Contents of today's contemporary LIT & Non-fic depends on content to be salable. Considering messages RE: the terrible, uncontrollable state of the Earth is a paramount inclusion in articles for our times. Contemporary LIT/ realism wise -- very research worthy & a fine addition to fiction per se while journalistically sound. Sweethearts, MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT --- there's no debate. Our Planet is in the throes of an environmental CRISIS!

Discussing published, famous, upcoming authors by working authors (writers all) who arrive as participants, enjoy & recommend great reads ... remains hopeful. A Librarian buff who keeps her hand in ... these things often drop into the foray from Yours Truly.

We're hearing about these trying times .. stamped like a bandage to high unemployment rates, lax EPA standards ETC! of today. Yet by HISTORY alone, we could cheer up whenever beholding realization (realism) stats from another brave new world: the past century, and the one that settled our nation. Well, e.g. in 1841 things had to be a lot worse. Although as far as trend setting went, 2011 was lousy --- overall.

Leaving you now with a low hum which began in The Great Depression, written by songwriter, musician,
Yip Harburg,
"Once I built a railroad ...
We made it run.
Buddy?
Can you spare a dime?"

ADCs Review Bar is set for "Invalid ItemOpen in new Window. Reviews, alas no rewards of any kind.

This mission statement invites: a call for mature members & potential posters. With a hello to CLUB members while offering a group, a forum as an onsite spot for open discussions. These, I shall reward with surprise gp

So ... *Check* us out, view our member lists, look for activities. Most of all, be assured occasionally writing myths are presented. Meanwhile, author-to-author hints are a given for all who stop over @ the good old WAVE.
Au revoir!!!
