A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
I have to admit it. I am the worlds worst outline makers. I promised myself I would at least outline the highlights this time around, because I never write in the same order I outline. It just doesn't always make sense once I get into the story. I have an overall view in my mind how the story should go, but.... Well, I looked up the resources on our calendar page, and I looked at those last year. I tried Scrivener, everyone's favorite, but I was sooooo confused, and didn't have time to learn it. I truly didn't understand the whole mind-mapping thing. Maybe I'm just too old, but I'm not really that old. I'm pretty tech savvy. But I digress. Today I found the perfect method for me. And I already have it on my computer, so that's an added bonus. So, I thought if it was helpful for me, it might be helpful for you. http://www.awn.com/blog/how-get-god-s-eye-view-your-story-microsoft-excel And it's very easy to move things around in Excel. That wasn't really mentioned much, but that's one of the big things about mind-mapping that I did like. It's not that easy to moved things around using word and the old bulky Roman Numeral outlines. I am so stoked about this!!! I'll let you know how it goes as I progress through it! Sincerely, Marci Missing Everyone
