Noticing Newbies

Welcome to Writing.Com Valerie. awkwardly waving back Congrats on being published author. We have a lot writers in here who has been published as well, from all genres, types and continents. I'm sure you'll find each other easy in here. You need to get involved in WdC more for that, participating in contests, forums, discussions, and the most important you need to write so we're gonna see what is it all about. For a start in here I recommend to check "Writing.Com 101"  basic guidelines through this community. The same link you can find in the upper right corner of your portfolio.
On your left side in a lower corner you will see browse by genre and browse by type where you can find other people's writing, contests, groups etc. from the same genre you like to write about. So, check that as well.
About feeling of being weird after you wrote a novel I don't know how's the feeling because I've never been published yet nor I wrote any novel yet, though I just signed up for NaNo Prep this year which we have here in WdC. If you wanna check that as well here's the link, maybe you get over that weirdness.. "October Novel Prep Challenge"  and join us next month.
