I don't think I've posted this before (I've been meaning to for several months), but I think some countdown writingML would be really cool and useful.

For example the code could produce the deadline and beneath it a countdown in days, hours, mins. Once the deadline has passed it might say completed. Or, perhaps the user could specify what it says after the deadline passes, and perhaps even if the countdown is DD:HH:MM, or just DD or DD:HH or HH:MM, etc...

There could be different sizes like bcount, lcount, scount showing different levels of detail. One could just be the countdown. One could include the deadline at the top or inline.
