Noticing Newbies

Welcome to WDC, Alex Silver !

I've been working on my novel for going on 3 years now, though I've had several long stretches where I haven't worked on it at all. I joined here in September of 2014 and LOVE it!! I've learned so much about writing, have made great friends, and have gotten lots of motivation to keep working.

This place can be pretty overwhelming at first, so don't be afraid to ask questions. You might be interested in joining a couple really great newbie forums where you can connect with other newbies (and not-so-newbies as well): "The Newbies Academy Group"  and "Newbies Academy Registration - OPEN" . You can post your work on our review request list as well.

I've found one of the best ways to get feedback on your work is to also review other people's work. Not only will you be exposing yourself to a variety of writing styles and skills levels, but you have to practice your writing to communicate with the writer what you though of their piece. Don't be shy - everyone wants to feedback and will be happy to hear what you think, even if you don't feel like you're "qualified" to write a review (EVERY reader is qualified to write a review here!).
