Noticing Newbies

Hello theshadyrose and welcome to WDC

Firstly that is terrible that you would get bullied on a writing site for your spelling! My spelling has never been amazing but I tend to write everything in Word and spell check it before posting, or if I'm not sure how a word is spelt then google it!

You will find that there are many people on WDC who like you have a disability, maybe are dyslexic, also many people who are not first language English or young people still in school - so there are many writers who may not have great spelling and grammar for one reason or another. Like pinkbarbie says, WDC is a lovely community where we have all made many friends and I can't imagine anyone being bullied on here - I don't think that would be tolerated!!

If you are concerned about this issue though, you could put a footnote in your work to say the reason for your spelling errors and ask that people correct it for you but not to take it in to account too heavily when rating After all spelling can be corrected but only you can come up with your ideas and imagery or characters etc.
